Coreopsis and Sedum are staples in the perennial garden. Each has several
species that produce beautiful flowers and some bloom for an extended
period of time. Both Coreopsis and Sedum will generally tolerate heat and
drought. A few species in each genus attract butterflies for nectar. |
We ship orders from our plant nursery from May through October. |

Coreopsis

'Sweet Dreams' Coreopsis (Coreopsis rosea 'Sweet Dreams') 'Sweet Dreams' Coreopsis grows 18"-20" high and spreads quickly. It produces white daisies with a beautiful raspberry color surrounding the yellow center. It's flowers are about twice the size as those of 'American Dream' It usually blooms July thru August. 'Red Shift' Coreopsis Growing 20"- 30" high, recently introduced Coreopsis 'Red Shift' produces an abundance of yellow flowers with deep red centers. It usually blooms July thru frost. As the weather cools, the blooms begin to fade, they develop red streaks that reach to the outer tips of the flower petals. Late in the blooming season, the flowers are predominately red. 'Creme Brulee' Coreopsis (Coreopsis verticillata 'Creme Brulee') Growing 15"- 20" high and spreading 18" - 36" wide, Coreopsis 'Creme Brulee' produces an abundance of bright yellow daisy-like flowers June thru August. 'Tricolor'

Sedum
kamtschaticum Growing 6" - 10' high, Sedum kamtschaticum has succulent, scalloped, deep green leaves. The plant is usually covered with mounds of bright yellow flowers June thru July. Unlike many of the low growing Sedums, this one doesn't generally fall open in the center when its flowers appear. A nice edging plant that will spread as years go by. Sedum rupestre Growing 6" - 10' high, Sedum rupestre has small, succulent, green leaves. It produces clusters of tiny yellow flowers in late summer. 'Autumn Joy' (Sedum spectabile 'Autumn Joy') Probably the most well known Sedum, 'Autumn Joy' grows 18" - 30" tall and produces huge mauve-pink heads in late August. As the autumn season progresses, the flowers turn to a rusty mahogany color. Easy to grow and like most Sedums, deer resistant and tolerant of heat and drought. Our 2010 crop is exceptionally nice!
